Our Story. |
Established in 1983Owner, Mark Mannina, bought Cheers of Pacifica on April 9, 1989. Previously the Linda Mar Lodge, this locals dive bar has served the population of Pacifica since its incorporation in 1957. As one of the first establishments in the Linda Mar Shopping Center it has served the needs of the costal community and passers-by. Those who still frequent this local watering hole have been coming here for decades and today their children fill those same bar stools.
In its early years, Cheers of Pacifica was the hot spot for local music, having over 5,000 bands over its lifetime. Musical guests have included Eddie Money, Eddie and the Tide, George Thorogood, and Elvin Bishop. Cheers rolled with the evolving genres from funk, alternative, today's music, while keeping inline with the classics. The walls are filled with memorabilia of the last several decades including a lingerie wall, SF Giants' baseball cards, SJ Sharks' autographs, collages from Mark's daughter Samantha's charity benefit (after being diagnosed with brain cancer at age 10), as well as a picturesque mural courtesy of local artists. Current managers Mark Mannina, TK and The Reverend as well as their friendly staff of bartenders open and close the bar to serve the local community and reflect over the days happenings. Whether you're visiting from out of town, recovering from the day's surf, or want to retire to a place where everybody remembers your name, come to Cheers of Pacifica. |
